I am an experienced educator and have enjoyed teaching in a variety of environments. My family are settled in the U.K. and so My wife and I are now permanently located in England. I have decided to cease full time teaching after a successful spell in a U.K. / IB curriculum School in the Middle East. I enjoy preparing students for public examinations.
I have been teaching for over 30 years in the state and private sector in the U.K. and have also taught in Africa, Europe, Asia and most recently in the Middle East. I taught physics to 13 to 18 year old students in a coeducational boarding school environment for eleven years and have taught IB as well as A level to students who have gained Oxbridge places to read Physics or Engineering. Some of my previous students also went on to MIT and Harvard. I have taught a number of students who gained over 42 points in their IB diploma including at least one that I can recall who gained 45 points.
I utilise a large variety of resources when coaching students to pass an examination. I have found it most effective to concentrate on developing the problem solving and communication skills that a physics paper requires at the post-16 level. Rapport between teacher and student is essential and I will try to make the process enjoyable so a sense of humour is also useful.
