As an experienced French and Spanish teacher , a tutor and an examiner ( I am a native French speaker) I specialize in exam preparation, a job I find immensely rewarding as I help my students achieve their predicted grades and often get a much higher grade than originally predicted and,in the process, enjoy speaking the language. During the lessons, the focus is essentially on speaking, using the material I create, which allows me to cover the other skills too. My expertise is French and Spanish.

Tutoring Experience

I have 30 years' experience teaching French to A level and Spanish to GCSE in secondary schools as well as tutoring. I also mark examination papers for one of the major examination boards and conduct speaking tests in schools during the summer term. I have also delivered courses for the MOD.
I have also translated documents.
I tutor students preparing for examinations, GCSE, A levels and Delf examinations but also undergraduates and adults wishing to learn a language from scratch or improve their existing competence.
I teach them the language they need to communicate effectively and confidently when travelling abroad or living in France/Spain. A lot of people do realise the importance and enjoyment of being able to communicate with the people of the country they are visiting or in which they wish to live.

Tutoring Approach

My aim is to help students gain confidence whilst making my lessons fun and productive as well and to do so, I use a variety of materials and games, when appropriate, to facilitate learning and speaking. I am friendly, patient and have a good sense of humour.
I tailor my lessons to every individual need, as I tutor students with different requirements and levels, from students working towards tests as well as people learning the language to help them enjoy the quality of their holiday or life abroad. With GCSE and A level students I revisit and cover all aspects of their course using materials I have written to help them revise effectively. As an examiner, I teach them the language and the techniques they need to achieve the best results.

Murielle is a very professional hardworking tutor which I sincerely recommend for anyone who is looking for a French Tutor. My daughter did so well in French in her GCSEs this year. She was working at grade 5 at school. She first started online tuition in January this year and within 5 months upto her GCSEs she achieved Grade 8. Murielle assessed her in her first session and was able to know where my daughter stood. Murielle gave her a personalised tailored tuition which helped her in areas where she was struggling. She has personalised work sheets which helped my daughter to organise and see where she was struggling. Within a few sessions, my daughter was progressing very well and getting confidence in French. She gained confidence in everything- Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading. In Writing she had very low grade 3 in December before she joined, and now she achieved Grade 9 in Writing in a matter of 5 months!
