I am 37 years of age and have more than 11 years of teaching experience. A dynamic, ambitious and hard-working teacher with experience in state and independent school systems across the age range from Reception to KS4. With 7 years’ experience as the Head of Mathematics in an Independent school (London) and 11+ years’ experience as a Mathematics Teacher with proven records of helping children progress, providing positive learning experiences, effective behaviour management systems, the highest standards of pastoral care and inspiring the Gifted and Talented and SEND pupils. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated negotiating and organising skills with a firm sense of responsibility and capacity to work hard under pressure.

Tutoring Approach

I have more than 11 years experience of tutoring pupils of all ages. I enjoy tutoring and am considered to have a caring approach and I try to make sure that learning takes place in a relaxed but studious situation. When tutoring, I find it very important to allow the student to feel confident in their work using lots of praise. It is important that the student feels they can get something wrong, so long as they try. This helps me to find out any misconceptions they might have, so I can re-teach any topics they may need refreshing. I ensure children are challenged age appropriately, and support learners to gain confidence when they are back in the classroom. I am able to work at home or in the pupil's home (happy to travel up to 5 miles from my home) and am currently available evenings and week-ends.
