I'm a New Zealander currently living in Scotland, after recently finishing my Law and Criminology degree. I have travelled to a bunch of Spanish-speaking countries: at 17 I moved to Argentina for a year, and promised myself I would only speak Spanish! I've also travelled through Peru, Costa Rica and Mexico. I love living in new places - I've also worked at a ski field in Canada and went on university exchange in England! In my spare time I love cooking, exercising in the outdoors and reading.
For five years I have tutored Spanish online in New Zealand, mainly helping IB and Cambridge students. As I studied IB Spanish (Ab Initio), I am most familiar with the IB curriculum, and can give personalised advice on the assessments. I tutored law for my university for three years. During this time I managed classes of 15 students four times a week - preparing material and delivering it in a classroom setting. In my final year I was Head Tutor, meaning I took on extra responsibility for preparation.
I've tutored Spanish for 5 years now. I pride myself on being enthusiastic and patient - I enjoy tackling tricky things with students, and helping them love Spanish! I think learning languages can be really fun - but it can also seem very daunting as it involves a lot of mistakes. I foster a friendly environment that accepts this: mistakes happen! But the more you practice, the better you get.
