A well-qualified classroom practitioner who is both creative and challenging in his teaching, passionate and committed to ensuring students maximise their potential and achievement. Also, with extensive experience in performing and recording, he can not only raise the quality of teaching but also develop a culture of learning and high aspiration right across a lesson or school’s music department.
As a musician, I have always been interested in learning more about my career and transferring skills and information to others to enrich the minds of the next generation. I hope to help them explore the many wonderful facets of the music world.
Besides about three years experience of teaching in secondary schools (covered GCSE, RSL and BTECH exam boards), I have ten years experience of one-to-one teaching Piano/Keyboard as well as teaching Music Theory, Music Technology and Production.
I have been fortunate to be able to try diverse teaching styles, enabling me to tailor my approach for each individual student and learning to understand the differences in the education environments within other careers.
I am trying to convey a broad knowledge about music theory, performance techniques, harmony and melody, composition, arrangement, recording and production. This general understanding of the industry is important for teaching learners, giving them better prospects for long-term learning or even their future career. I believe music in the modern world has changed, therefore, we need a modern approach to teaching that remains current and adapts to modern life. I believe my enthusiasm and knowledge of music enables me in delivering the subject to a high standard and create a willingness to learn among the students that I teach.
