Neelam

After completing my degree at the University of Cambridge, I chose teaching as my profession. I am currently the Head of Science at an international school in Cambridge, with extensive experience teaching Science from Year 7 to 11 and Chemistry from Year 12 to 13. I have a proven track record of academic success, consistently achieving 100% A*-B results, with a specialization in differentiation.

In recent years, I have developed a strong understanding of blended learning and the rapid evolution of education. Throughout my career, I have held various leadership roles, including Head of Chemistry and mentor for PGCE students. I also facilitate the National Professional Qualification in collaboration with the Institute of Education at University College London. My leadership training, combined with extensive training from exam boards, enables me to prepare students effectively for exams, focusing on strategies that not only help them achieve excellent grades but also foster a genuine interest in the subject.

I am empathetic, genuine, and reliable, with exceptional interpersonal skills. My drive, combined with a vibrant and outgoing personality, allows me to make a positive and lasting impact in every endeavor I undertake.

Outside my professional life, I am an avid reader and storyteller, and I enjoy creative pursuits such as knitting and engaging in STEM activities. Through my studies, global travels, teaching experience, and involvement with the Newnham Associate program, I bring a unique perspective and skill set that sets me apart from my peers.

Teaching is more than a profession to me; it is a vocation. I find immense fulfillment in inspiring young people and building their confidence. My diverse experiences, both within and beyond education—including travel and roles outside teaching—have shaped my wide-ranging yet focused skill set. Additionally, as an experienced examiner with Cambridge International Assessment and a Science tutor, I possess deep expertise in the subject.
