Enhancing Your Academic Journey: Lessons, Ideas, and Assignment Suggestions for International and UK University Students
Hello, I’m Neil. I'm an English Language university teacher with an extensive background in teaching both international students and UK students. I work at a university in England, where I teach academic classes on different areas (e.g. dissertation writing, critical analysis, essay writing) and provide 1-2-1 specialist help to students who want to develop their undergraduate and postgraduate writing to obtain higher grades. Prior to this, I taught in Portugal, and then returned to the U.K. to teach English at a local college, before going on to teach at the University of Liverpool for several years.
All this means I have seen hundreds of university essays, dissertations, articles and reports on many different subjects, which has enabled me to develop the skills required to be an effective academic teacher. It has also put me in touch with many students who have benefitted from my proofreading and editing skills.
In all my lessons, the focus is on what you want to learn. Do you have a specific language point to practice? Need feedback on your writing? Seeking guidance on structuring an assignment? Perhaps you want to enhance your critical analysis skills or boost your spoken confidence and grammatical accuracy. Depending on the time available, we can cover a range of topics to ensure you leave the lesson feeling empowered and knowledgeable.
Interactive and Engaging Learning
I strive to make lessons as interactive as possible, with ample opportunities for questions and discussions. This approach not only makes learning more enjoyable but also ensures we make the most of our time together. My experience with students from diverse backgrounds has helped me create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where you can feel comfortable and confident.
