I am an experienced, passionate Science teacher with over 10 years experience working in Outstanding London schools. I have worked with a vast array of different learners inspiring many to become independent well skilled Scientists with outstanding results. I have been a part of the national outstanding teacher programme and have worked to develop new stratergies tailored for all learners, whether it is gifted and talented students, students who are disengaged, students who have barriers to learning or SEN. Science is a real passion of mine and I enjoy bringing in relevant projects and current topics from the science world into my teaching.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching in main stream education for over 10 years and in this time I have worked with many students from different backgrounds and have helped them achieve their potential. I have also worked as a private tutor for nearly 10 years, working with students from the elite private sector to main stream education. Many of my students have gone on to higher education attending the top universities in the country.

Tutoring Approach

My philosophy is to encourage independent thinking and promote confidence, as a fun relaxed and engaging atmosphere is key to learning. I have vast knowledge on the content of the GCSE and A level specification and I am a specialist at developing exam skills which is where as much as 25% of the marks are lost in GCSE science across the country. I have worked as a head of year for 6 years and have a senior role in behaviour management across a school trust. In this role I work with vulnerable groups of students helping them overcome barriers and gain confidence and life skills. This is where communication and really knowing your students and their needs is key, differentiating tasks to suit their learning needs which is how learning takes place.
