I teach maths and English to children up to Yr 8 online via Zoom or in person.
I taught full time in primary schools in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire for 18 years and have worked with all age groups from Reception to year 6. Most recently I worked with a year 4 class, prior to that I worked with upper key stage 2 children teaching a year 5/6 class, preparing them for the end of key stage SATs. More recently I have been concentrating on tutoring, test marking and resource preparation for teachers.
I have tutored children on a 1:1 basis, both for my own school and privately, for over 15 years and have a range of practical resources available to support children with their learning. My work includes supporting children to take SATs tests and to prepare for entrance exams to private schools.
In addition, am an experienced Key Stage 2 English SATs marker and have a good knowledge of the expectations for the end of key stage 2 tests.
I was Mathematics subject leader for my school and have a good understanding of the progression of maths teaching and learning across the primary curriculum.
Working on a 1:1 basis allows for tutoring to be adapted to the specific needs of the learner. Gaps in understanding or missing links can be addressed. All lesson include practical learning using a range of resources and equipment to engage young learners.
I also offer holiday booster sessions to support catch up for children of all ages as well as focussed test and entrance exam preparation.
