I'm newly retired from teaching Primary children for 15 years. I like to keep fit and healthy. I go walking over the South Downs with my partner and dog Milo, who is a Border Terrier. I like to go to the cinema, read a good book and travel. I have 2 grown up children. One lives in NSW Australia, the other in Brighton. I haven't been to Australia yet!
I've been a Primary school teacher for the past 15 years. Before that I worked in a special residential school with children who had complex medical needs, along with severe autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia and other learning difficulties.
I have mainly taught children between the ages of 6 - 11 years. Maths and English are my specialist subjects, but I also enjoy other areas of the curriculum including Science, History, Geography and French.
I pride myself on being led by the learner. Using whichever method of learning helps them best of all. I believe that if the student is happy and relaxed whilst being taught, they will learn more and hopefully enjoy the experience at the same time. I like to think that I am a kind and empathetic practitioner who can relate well with children.
