Successful track record in ensuring students achieve their 11+ entries to grammar and/or private schools; past students entered Henrietta Barnet, Queen Elizabeth Boys, Westminster, City of London and Latimer.
I have supported my previous A Level students to enter university to study Mathematics and/or allied subjects; Warwick, UCL, Bristol, Edinburgh, Imperial and Cambridge.
I possess a calm and patient nature that is ideal for supporting students of all levels. As a tutor, I enjoy focusing on a student's individual needs and helping them achieve their goals. The benefits of one-to-one learning with a knowledgeable and experienced tutor who is also currently teaching and aware of common student pitfalls are unparalleled. My goal is not only to fill gaps in a student's learning but also to design a program that meets their individual needs, setting realistic and achievable goals. I have witnessed firsthand the success of this approach, with students I have tutored improving by two or more grades in just a few months. For example, one recent student improved from a grade 6 to an 8 with just a few months of tuition over the summer. It is truly satisfying to help others improve and achieve great results.
I have over thirteen years of experience as a private tutor, specialising in individualised education that addresses the shortcomings of mainstream education. Through thousands of hours of experience, I have perfected my approach to cater to a diverse range of students with varying abilities and needs.
With a large client base of up to forty students at any given time, I have a high volume of returning customers and receive many personal recommendations. As a specialist in one-to-one provision for mathematics, I have extensive experience in delivering effective tutorials for over twenty-five different qualifications and entrance examinations. Witnessing my students' growth in both capability and confidence has been the defining purpose of my career for many years, and I hope to continue doing so for many more to come.
How are the sessions conducted?
During the first lesson, we review the student's academic record, aspirations, and current concerns to create a plan for the academic year that will help them achieve their desired grades.
In the following sessions, we focus on topics that the student needs more help with. I use high-quality equipment for online lessons to ensure a smooth experience and encourage interaction. Homework is assigned at the end of each lesson, and we review any problems at the beginning of the next session.
As we get closer to exam period, the focus shifts to exam practice. The plan for the remainder of the year depends on the student's current position, but there is an emphasis on exam practice. I have a catalog of exam materials that I use to aid this process.
