My passion is sport and educating, and when teaching Sorts/PE I aim to enthuse and motivate my pupils with the wonders of our Sports. PE is an exciting subject with many challenges and unanswered questions .
Whether you need kowledge, tweaking of areas or improving exam technique, the aim is the same.
My aim and goal is for people to reach their full potential and historically I have achieved this.
I am fully committed to my students, and will go that extra mile for them to achieve.
I am passionate about teaching - to me it is about helping learners to learn and discover things for themselves, and to give them a sense of achievement and purpose.
My hobbies include many sports, being a voluntary First responder with the Ambulance Service, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
I qualified as a PE teacher in 1993. Since then I have taught A level, GCSE PE and BTEC Sports Studies. I am presently Head of Department in an inner-city school. I am in charge of all examination courses within PE.
I always ran popular extra-curricular activities and after school revision classes, while many pupils come to me throughout the school day for help and support in addition to my interactive lessons with them.
Since intoducing A level Sports Studies in a college in Wales, I have been tutoring in PE from Year 7 to GCSE, as well as AS and A level (all syllabuses).
I am also a moderator for GCSE PE with two examination boards, which helps me to explain to pupils what examiners are looking for in answers!
I have an open, supportive, flexible approach to explaining any topics required, to boost your confidence, understanding and enthusiasm of Sport/PE. I use exam questions with you as part of a structured revision programme, as I feel this proves to be one of the best methods of improving grades.
Tutoring in the practical activities of PE is also available. Are the practical activities you are offering suitable to you, can you gain higher marks in other areas?
