I have been a primary school teacher for 20 years where I have worked in a number of primary schools in St Albans and Harpenden. I am currently working as a supply teacher for primary schools in Hertfordshire which allows me to choose the days and times I wish to work.
I have over 20 years experience of teaching the National Curriculum in Primary Schools. I am KS1 trained but for the last 10 years have taught KS2 children and have taken small groups or individuals out from their classes to help move them on in Maths and Literacy. More recently I have been teaching in KS1 and Foundation where the emphasis has been on Phonics for Reading and Writing and the basic building blocks for Maths. Over the years I have had a number of private students as well as being employed by the local Education Authority where I gave one-to-one tuition to a number of underachieving pupils in Maths and English. I have also tutored a number of pupils for their 11 plus - mostly in English with an excellent success rate.
I always have the highest expectations of pupils and aim to build their confidence through teaching subjects creatively and aim to discover which learning style best suits them. Therefore each child will have their own unique programme of study which will help them to progress academically and develop personally.
I now offer 1-1 tuition online via Zoom
