Hello, and thank you for your interest in my tuition and home schooling services.
I am a fully qualified teacher with seven years of experience in UK secondary schools, having achieved Qualified Teacher Status with an ‘Outstanding’ grade. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, and a First Class Honours Degree with Distinction in Philosophy and Psychology from a world-class university.
My academic background and classroom experience give me a deep understanding of how students learn best. I draw on this to tailor each session to the individual, ensuring every student makes meaningful and sustained progress. My approach blends subject expertise with a focus on building confidence, critical thinking, and long-term learning strategies.
I bring over nine years of private tutoring experience, working with students of all ages and abilities—from early learners to adults—across a wide range of goals. I’ve supported pupils in achieving outstanding results in entrance exams, SATs, GCSEs, A Levels, and adult learning qualifications.
Alongside tutoring, I create high-quality, bespoke resources to meet individual learning needs. My resources are not only used in my own sessions but have also been downloaded over 30,000 times on the educational platform Tes.com by teachers and parents across the country. All materials are included as part of my service.
What I value most, however, is seeing students grow in confidence and develop a genuine love for learning—especially in foundational subjects like English and Maths. These subjects are key to so many future opportunities, yet they’re not always taught in a way that sparks enthusiasm. One-to-one tuition provides a supportive space for learners to explore ideas creatively, ask questions freely, and build lasting skills and self-belief.
My approach is grounded in the latest research on how learning happens—particularly in the areas of retention, retrieval, and long-term memory. I use proven strategies that help students not only prepare effectively for assessments but also develop a deeper understanding of their subjects.
Equally important to me is ensuring that students genuinely enjoy the learning process. I aim to create a positive, encouraging environment where learners experience the joy of understanding and the satisfaction of expressing their ideas clearly. I focus on building confidence through meaningful praise, always celebrating effort and progress rather than any fixed notion of ‘ability’. This helps students develop a growth mindset—recognising that success comes from perseverance, not perfection.
My one-to-one sessions offer truly personalised attention and feedback that make a lasting difference. Every child, regardless of starting point, benefits from this focused, expert support.
