I have recently moved to the UK from South Africa. I have just completed a bachelors degree majoring in both Geography and Philosophy and am extremely passionate for both subjects. My next degree which I will be studying here is Architecture and Environmental Engineering, as I really am passionate about sustainability, sustainable development and green architecture. I love how geography teaches you about the world around you, as well as how society interacts with and in nature. I think there is a lot that Geography can teach you about the world and that's why it is such an interesting subject. As soon as you get excited about what Geography can teach you, you'll start to flourish in it
I do not have any teaching experience yet, as I have just finished at University. However, I'd love to start as soon as possible and develop my skills, hopefully teaching my students something new and learning more about the subject myself
I prefer in-person lessons because I do feel they allow for more interaction, however I can do online lessons (which may allow for more flexibility). I'd like to start by gauging the students level in their subject and working from there, this will also allow me to see how the student prefers to learn and I can tailor a method of teaching that suits their needs. I think that with any subject it is important that the lesson is enjoyable and if I can create a structure that suits the needs of the student, they will get the most out of these lessons.
