Hi. I am a 22 year old law graduate from the University of East-Anglia in Norwich and I am a part time Maths tutor for up to A levels. I have several hobbies including learning new things, teaching, badminton, video games, hiking, etc. I am an extroverted person who loves to meet new people and make new friends.
I scored about 95% (A*) in Maths in both my GCSE and A levels and I wanted to share my knowledge with others. It saddens me when children do not like maths as I believe maths is all about logic and problem solving - key skills for anyone to be successful. I have been tutoring students from year 7 to A levels for the past 4 years. I have had students in buttom sets and top set and, in the foundation and higher routes. I have an excellent grasp and understanding of all the chapters in the syllabus and I also know how examiners correct and mark past examination papers.
My approach is simple - I want my students to understand the concept and logic of maths. As a private tutor, I know that each student has their own way of learning and I adapt my teaching accordingly. To avoid them being confused I try to teach them the same methods as they are taught in school - unless there is an easier way. We work worksheets for each chapter to ensure that they can apply their learning. We also practice a lot of past papers which I mark and give detailed feedback on how to improve. All my teaching methods is catered for the student to do well in an exam setting - from the way they understand the question to the way they present their workings.
