Oliver

Hi, I’m Olly!
I’m passionate about helping students unlock their full potential and achieve their academic goals, whether they’re aiming for GCSEs or A-levels. I truly believe that every student can achieve high grades with the right support, and I know that building confidence is the key to success.
What sets my tutoring apart is my ability to tailor teaching methods to the unique needs of each student. In larger classroom settings, it’s easy for some students to feel overlooked or lost, but together we’ll find the approach that works best for them, so they feel empowered and confident in their learning.
Whilst at school I achieved A*s in maths and science at GCSE, and went on to secure an A* in maths and As in biology and chemistry at A-level. Afterward, I completed a First-Class degree in Pharmacology at the University of Bristol, followed by a master's degree in Pharmacology and a PhD in Neuroscience. Throughout my studies, I’ve been exposed to a wide variety of teaching methods, and I use this diverse experience to help my students thrive in the way that works best for them.
I look forward to helping you or your child achieve those higher grades and gain the confidence to accomplish the success they are capable of.

Tutoring Experience

Whilst studying for my A-levels, I tutored multiple GCSE students, both at my school and adults who were aiming to become secondary school teachers. I have also tutored university students in statistics modules during my PhD studies.

Tutoring Approach

I believe confidence is the main aspect holding students back in school, and that this lack of confidence arises due to the school teaching environment limiting the different teaching strategies that students are exposed to. In a more individual approach, the student and I can work out the best way for them personally to learn and allow them to reach their potential.
