Hi! My name is Olivia and I am an experienced primary school teacher who has worked in education for over 20 years.

I offer 1:1 face-to-face and online tuition (I have limited online availability) in:

*11 Plus English and maths preparation for entrance exams into grammar school
*KS1 English and maths support including preparation for the Phonics screening check
*KS2 English and maths support including preparation for the Year 4 multiplication check and Year 6 SATs
*KS3 maths tuition

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced primary school teacher who has worked in education for over 20 years. Over a decade of that time was spent in the classroom as both a primary school teacher here in Manchester. In addition to working in mainstream settings, I have also spent a significant part of my career working as an SEND teacher in SEN schools around Manchester. During my time in the primary classroom, I taught from Year 2 all the way up to Year 6!

Before I became a teacher, I worked as a Senior Education Worker and Tutor at an education charity that worked with children throughout their time in primary and secondary school to finally support them in their application to Russell Group universities. As I am a science graduate, I have also worked as a Science Learning Facilitator and Science Projects Officer for Russell Group universities Queen Mary, Royal Holloway and Imperial College London. In my role, I project managed, developed and taught Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5 science programmes for primary and secondary schools in London.

Tutoring Approach

I am passionate about providing a confidence-boosting and skills-based education to our children, allowing them to exceed academically, encourage a love of learning and succeed in later life. I work with students to grow their mindset and self-confidence, boost their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills and most importantly, foster a love of lifelong learning.

Not only do I offer structured sessions on exam technique and practice, I differ from other tutors in that I use a fun, engaging approach using lots of educational games and hands-on activities. I know from my wealth of experience in the classroom that this is how children love to learn!
