I’m a Human Geography graduate and experienced tutor with a strong academic background in global development, geopolitics, and environmental change. I specialise in helping students unpack complex ideas and shape them into clear, confident arguments; both in writing and discussion. With experience teaching at both GCSE and A-Level, I bring not only subject expertise but a thoughtful, intuitive approach. My sessions are designed to support academic growth while also building independence, curiosity, and self-belief. Above all, I aim to foster a deeper, more empowered understanding of the world through Geography.
I’ve taught in both classroom settings and as a private tutor, supporting students from a range of academic backgrounds, exam boards, and confidence levels. During my time as a GCSE English teacher, I designed and delivered revision programmes, marked mock papers using official mark schemes, and helped students develop their writing through feedback that was honest, specific, and supportive. In addition, my academic training in Human Geography, which includes geopolitics, development, and cultural theory, has equipped me to guide students through complex topics with clarity. My approach is shaped by real teaching practice rather than theory alone, and I care deeply about helping students build confidence alongside academic success.
My approach is structured but highly responsive to each student’s learning style. I begin most lessons with short recall exercises or pop quizzes to strengthen memory, boost confidence, and maintain momentum. From there, I often move into discussion or debate-style tasks, encouraging students to challenge ideas, sharpen their thinking, and build clarity in expression. I regularly adapt my methods, whether that involves breaking content into micro-steps, using visual breakdowns, or creating personalised revision timetables. I also incorporate mock questions, past papers, and mark schemes to build exam fluency over time. I set high expectations but always support students with clear feedback, consistent encouragement, and a belief in their ability to grow. My aim is to build not just performance, but independent thinkers who feel in control of their own learning.
