Hi, I'm Patora, an English Communications and Employability & Progression tutor. I have a degree in Advertising & Marketing Communications and 20+ years of industry experience. As well as running my own business, I'm a well-being coach, certified in mental health advocacy, and a trustee for a youth charity. I connect well with people and passionately help high school, college, and university students achieve academic goals and employability progression through good communication.

Tutoring Experience

I started tutoring in 2023, helping students worldwide improve their English communication skills. To date - I have helped learners achieve success by:
1) Strengthening their English listening, speaking, and conversation skills.
2) Improving their writing style to create stand-out employment applications.
3) Practicing good communication and presentation style for work placement, apprenticeship, foreign exchange programme, and job interviews.
4) Preparing well for tests at school, college, and university.
5) Rehearsing presentations for academic success.
6) Building confidence and fluency for study-based interviews and social networking in an educational setting.
Throughout my career, spanning over 20 years, I have supported communities and organisations and successfully coached and mentored students, junior staff members, and apprentices to advance in employment and progress their career and professional development.

Tutoring Approach

I am friendly, easy to get along with and enjoy running my 1:1 online sessions in a learner-focused and fun way. My students describe me as empathetic, patient, and encouraging. Depending on your needs and the goals you want to achieve, we can:
1) Practice having good conversations to build fluency, social skills, and confidence.
2) Develop good communication skills (listening, speaking, body language) to stand out and win trust in a work and/or study environment.
3) Prepare for exams, interviews, and presentations through practice papers, mock tests, role-play interviews, and rehearsals.
4) Achieve a broader range of vocabulary, adopt a more expressive communication style, and focus on areas for personal development.
