I love to teach and help guide children into developing a life long love for learning! I am from Scotland, live by the seaside in the Ayrshire coast and I have a daughter of my own. I have previously worked all over the world at International Private Schools. I am now settled in Ayrshire with my family and teaching a composite class Primary 1-3. I have a variety of hobbies that I love, from learning piano to adult figure skating.
I have been primary teaching for over 13 years. I love to teach in a way that makes learning fun, engaging and exciting. I have lots of experience teaching the younger end of the school, developing a strong foundation for mathematics, Active literacy & Phonics. My specialty is supporting children in becoming confident readers and spellers. I have a full reading book program at home.
I equally have many years of experience in teaching & tutoring children in the older end of the school, supporting children in changing their mindset towards maths and literacy, to grow a love for learning!
I have tutored alongside my teaching career for over10 years. I plan tutoring sessions carefully to ensure results and progress for each individual student.
My approach is fun, engaging and practical, but I also ensure big progress. I can motivate even the most reluctant learners!
I have a Garden Studio/ mini classroom where I do all my online and in person tutoring. I have a multitude of resources for all ages.
I can assess your child’s individual needs and create a program for them. Alternatively I am happy to follow their teacher’s plan and tackle any difficulties where needed.
If your child is on a Staged Intervention I can support them in achieving their goals to help them master their targets.
