Hello! I'm Patrick, a passionate and dedicated English tutor with over 5 years of experience in secondary education. My journey in education began with a strong love for literature and language, which I pursued academically by earning my media degree from London Metropolitan University. Since then, I've been committed to sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with my GCSE students.

My approach is interactive and student-centred, focusing on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. I believe that building confidence is key to mastering any subject, and I strive to make every lesson both informative and enjoyable. Through personalized lesson plans, practical exercises, and constructive feedback, I aim to empower my students to reach their full potential.

Tutoring Experience

I have five years experience in teaching GCSE English literature and language. In that time I have developed several proven methods to develop student's writing capabilities and confidence.
I have also developed a strong understanding of the different exam texts and which quotations are best to utilize in an exam.
I have also worked with the AQA exam board to better understand the best approach for each exam question in both literature and language.

Tutoring Approach

I use a carefully supported approach in my teaching where I consciously mould students into writing essays that are interesting and inciteful. I also use tried and tested resources that will help student's maximise their potential in examinations.
Above all else, I am kind, patient and encouraging to all students. I believe I foster a learning environment where students are comfortable to learn and grow.
