Hello my name is Paul, I have returned from New Zealand where I was on the prestigious Maurice Wilkins scholarship to do medicinal chemistry and immunology at Auckland University. My PhD was on the synthesis and testing of anti-cancer vaccines. I supplemented my income by demonstrating laboratory chemistry to undergraduates and one-on-one tutoring of undergraduate chemistry. I spent 5 months making HIV Drugs in St. Helens after my PhD then reelised I had enough of working in a lab. I gained a Masters at the University of Nottingham where I studied chemistry. I am from Reading, and went to Little Heath School where I specialized in maths and science. After a year of really enjoying teaching A-Level maths I have just been accepted onto a Maths degree at Reading Uni so I am going to be doing a degree while my students are at school.

In 2016 I was hired to teach A-Level maths at Newbury Hall school over Christmas. In early 2017 I was hired to teach GCSE maths to Nursery Assistants at Berkeley gardens day nursery, I also ran Science revision classes for Reading UTC in May 2017. In 2018 I have worked at Little Heath School and a young offenders institute in Newbury. I spent a month observing students and teachers at Willinc school and Maiden Erlegh learning how these schools teach maths.
I am a friendly person who understands that learning new subjects can be hard. I am flexible in my approach, I will try and find a way which the student can remember and apply the knowledge. Everyone learns in a different way. I can prepare lessons if given some warning, I can also go through past exam papers and discuss the subject one on one. I have a car so I am able to travel to where ever you want to be tutored, I am also able to give lessons over Skype if that is more convenient.
