I am a former soldier and former teacher who is looking at returning to tutoring following a successful tenure as a tutor of Maths, ICT & Science in Cheshire 2008-2011!
I have been teaching since completing my PGCE in 2006. I have worked in state schools, independent schools and lastly international schools in a variety of exotic locations across the world. In 2008-2011, I had a 100% success rate - although of course nothing is guaranteed!
Maths. Invariably students struggle with Maths because of a gap in knowledge earlier on in their education! I try to identify this gap as well as their strengths and weaknesses in the first few weeks and then provide an individual plan to ensure success. ICT. I find students struggle with answering questions especially on DB and Web Dev - normally the time element puts them under pressure which cause them to make mistakes they would not normally make.
