The feedback I have always received is that children, young people, and adults all enjoy my teaching and tutoring. I make ideas clear, they understand the subject, they make rapid progress, and ultimately they succeed in their exams.

I have taught maths at every level from young children struggling with counting, right up to some of the brightest young people in the country preparing for the most challenging university entrance exams. All ages and abilities are welcome.

I have been a teacher and tutor for twenty years. In that time I have taught at all levels including:

Tutoring Approach

As mathematicians we are often comfortable working with (very!) abstract ideas. I think we need to be aware that this is a skill some of our students are still developing.

With this in mind my aim is to help my students understand and enjoy Mathematics by using a wide range of approaches, for instance: hands-on equipment, physical activities, real world examples, discovery, problem-solving, visualisations, stories, practical exam technique, and much more.
