I teach in Surrey but during the holidays I live in Woodbridge, Suffolk with my wife. I love walking around the lovely River Debin and my pastimes include watching sport and entering quizzes.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught for 47 years in a number of secondary schools in the UK and abroad ( Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Bermuda). My subjects include Chemistry IB, AP and A Level, Physics A Level, GCSE Physics and Chemistry and Maths and for the past 28 years I have been teaching Physics IB and AP at an International Independent school in Surrey.
I have also amassed over 2000 hours of private tuition over these years.

Tutoring Approach

My classroom approach is child centred in the sense that after giving the essential information to the student I will try and get them to understand a topic by asking questions, doing problems and carrying out investigations. I am easy going for most of the time but if needed (only occasionally) I can make sure that discipline is observed.
As far as tutoring is concerned I try and make sure in advance what the student wants to cover and will then prepare resources accordingly. I believe one of my strengths is the way that I can explain the important concepts in a clear and precise manner. I am always available for students to email me between lessons is they need a little extra help.
