I have over forty years experience of teaching up to A level Chemistry in both state and independent schools and have recently retired from full time work in a secondary school in Norfolk.
During my career I have held the positions of Head of Science and Assistant Head teacher with responsibility as Head of Sixth Form.
In addition to my wide teaching experience I also work as an A-level chemistry examiner for Pearson (Edexcel) and have an in depth understanding of the examination process.
As well as my experience in schools I have worked as a one to one tutor for many years and also for Philip Allan delivering Easter revision courses.
Having worked as a Head of Sixth Form and Sixth Form tutor I can also help to guide students in their studies and future career ambitions.
I seek to meet the needs of the individual tutee and provide a range of approaches and activities to do this using teaching resources accumulated during my career.
I would usually identify areas of weakness and then build a programme to address these. I seek to make complex ideas as simple and easy to understand as possible whilst always remembering the requirements of future examinations. I have a patient, friendly and caring approach.
