I recently retired from a career in the space industry, working for Telespazio. Physics is a wonderful subject giving us deep insight into how the natural universe works and the principles underlying much of our technology. At A-level you are introduced to all the great ideas, with relatively simple mathematics, and you begin to think like a scientist and engineer. It will be a tough and mind-bending journey, but I hope also rewarding. I can help you through those challenges to achieve the grade you need. I specialise in A-level Physics, and I can help with maths, computing and other STEM subjects too.
I trained as a Physics teacher, then worked in industry and academia: in electronics and telecommunications, then in software engineering. I have taught Physics A-level in secondary school and coached several students privately covering the entire A-level syllabus.
I am flexible and we can discuss a tailored approach. Previously we have worked systematically through the syllabus, revision guides and past papers for the relevant examination board, ideally synchronised weekly with the student's classes. I expect to spend some time outside our hourly sessions, for preparing and marking, but for travelling I would charge £10. Students under 18 may be accompanied.
