Pranjali

I studied French and Japanese at the University of Manchester, and graduated in 2024 with a First Class BA Honours degree and a distinction in spoken French. I attended the Henrietta Barnett School for Girls and achieved a grade 9 (A*) in my French GCSE and an A in my French A-Level. I spent two months at a summer school in Lyon, France in 2023 perfecting my French knowledge, and a year at Meiji Gakuin University in Tokyo, Japan as part of my degree. I'm really passionate about languages and language learning, and having been an active language learner for over 9 years, I have a strong knowledge of different approaches to learning languages, and which methods are the most effective.

Tutoring Experience

I independently designed and prepared tailored content for after-school language lessons, teaching students aged 14-15 who had no prior experience in Japanese. By continuously monitoring student progress, I was able to help these students get a good grasp of beginner level Japanese.
I also have had experience in tutoring family friends in GCSE French, as my degree-level knowledge allows me to give students a way to stand out in their exams.

Tutoring Approach

Depending on what aspects of language you would like to learn, my approach can differ. If you want to practise speaking, we can have a conversation or q&a based session, with points on how to sound more natural. If you need specific help mastering difficult grammar points, I can give explanations and cheat sheets to help you remember how to use the grammar. If you need to prepare for a qualification such as GCSE or A-Level, we can work on the syllabus, and specific phrases, vocabulary, and sentence structure that will impress examiners.
