I am currently in my 4th year of Medicine at the University of Southampton and have a great passion for teaching. Prior to University, I studied at Dr Challoner's High School where I obtained AAA in A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
I have been tutoring for 6 years and have helped people of many abilities to get the grades they need in order to progress with their education.
I am not offering in-person tuition at the moment, I am available for online tuition only!
I have been tutoring a range of students from pre-GCSE through to A-level. This has enabled many of them to go on to study the courses/subjects they wanted! These students differed in age and ability allowing me to improve and adapt my teaching methods to suit them.
Having left school a few years ago, I have an in-depth understanding of how GCSE and A-level exams work. Helping students get the best out of themselves and seeing them grow in confidence is very rewarding.
GCSE and A-level exams are all about understanding the question and answering it using precise terminology from the syllabus you are studying. Students need to be able to consolidate what they have learnt and transfer it onto an exam paper hence, my sessions consist of working through and explaining past exam questions to students.
To gauge where my students are at, I will give them some questions on a range of topics during the initial session. This enables me to track their progress and adapt my approach if they are still struggling. I also encourage that students continue working on practice exam questions at home as they are the closest you can get to the real exam and will support the work done in tutoring sessions.
