I'm in my third year of studying MA French and Spanish at Glasgow University. I'm a former student at Jordanhill school so I'm familiar with the curriculum and exam format for SQA. I'm willing to provide any extra help, be it conversation practice, grammar or written elements.

Tutoring Experience

I achieved A's in both my National 5 and Higher French and Spanish examinations, and was accepted into the University of Glasgow to study both as a Joint Honours degree. I'm currently in my third year of my degree and I am studying abroad in both countries as part of my course. I have sound knowledge of the vocal and grammar required at National 5 and Higher level, and have prior experience of teaching. At Jordanhill, I volunteered once a week helping out in the French and Spanish department as a teaching assistant. I have also done voluntary work at my university, teaching English Grammar in 2019 to students from France, Spain and Italy. Both of these experiences helped me feel comfortable teaching both a large class, and helping students on a one-on-one basis. In terms of tutoring I have tutored one girl in preparation for her National 5 examinations, however I would love to take on more clients.

Tutoring Approach

I will largely cater to the needs of the individual student and tailor my lessons according to their strengths and weaknesses. I will gauge the level of the student through various exercises and questions, adjusting my lesson plan accordingly. With each student, I will focus achieving a sound knowledge and use of grammar required of the level, and help with translation, comprehension, writing, listening and conversational aspects. I am also prepared to give any advice for students preparing to study French or Spanish at University level. I want to create a relaxed teaching environment for my students, and this requires communication! If you have any questions whatsoever regarding my method, please do not hesitate to ask.
