My name is Rachel, I am a professional actor living in Hackney with many years experience of teaching, both in a classroom environment and private tutoring. I graduated from King's College London with a 2:1 in Philosophy and Theology before training as an actor at Drama Centre London. As well as tutoring Philosophy and Religious Studies I can offer Drama tuition and acting coaching. I am a huge fan of Shakespeare and poetry if you are also looking for help with English exams. I am also experienced in study skills advise and can help with exam and revision techniques. I am always excited and inspired by young people and keen to help them explore and achieve their potential.

Tutoring Experience

I have several years experience teaching religious studies to GCSE and A Level, as well as Philosophy to A Level. I have taught English from Key Stage 2 right up to A Level and also have experience teaching English and Maths at KS1 and KS2 to children for whom English is their second language. I have coached people on their audition speeches as they have been applying to drama school and have worked with student's on their Speech and Drama pieces as well as tutoring students in GCSE Drama.

Tutoring Approach

I am keen to give my students the tools they need to feel confident in their own abilities giving them a belief in themselves and an excitement for the subjects that they might find more challenging. Particularly with my GCSE and A Level students I focus on exam and essay writing technique and revision skills so that they can come up with a strategic, effective revision plan for their exam periods. Organisation, focus and simplicity are keys to exam success. I am firm but fair and push my students to unlock their own potential.
