Rachel

I'm from Lincoln in England and a UK qualified languages teacher. I teach Spanish and EFL up to degree level. I help pupils of all ages to gain confidence and reach their potential. I have been teaching online for 5 years with great success, helping pupils all over the world. Having lived both in the UK and Spain for many years, I have first hand experience of local accents, as well as the history and culture of both countries.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 25 years teaching experience mostly in UK Secondary schools, some primary schools, but principally GCSE and A level Spanish. I taught for 7 years in a top International school in Abu Dhabi. (Brighton College.) I was Head of the Modern Foreign Languages department in two schools and Head of Spanish in one. I have also taught English in the Bank of Spain, Madrid, as well as in other businesses in Spain. I worked as an AQA examiner for 4 years, marking and moderating examination papers and conducting speaking exams. Whilst teaching EFL I have taught PET/ CET /Cambridge / IELTS and other Trinity qualifications.

Tutoring Approach

An individualised approach is vital to work to the needs and at the pace of each pupil. I create a safe and happy environment to ensure each person feels comfortable and able to thrive and progress. All my pupils reach or go beyond their predicted grades, as well as enjoying all lessons in an informative, but also fun and interactive approach, designed to appeal to their interests, needs and goals. I always receive excellent feedback and recommendations from all my pupils who continue to thank me for everything I have done for them.
