Rachel

I am a fully qualified English teacher with experience working in both the Scottish and international sectors. I am currently employed as a full time English and Media teacher at a school in Edinburgh where I am devoted to helping my students achieve academic success and importantly enjoy their learning.

Tutoring Experience

After qualifying as a secondary English teacher I spent three years working in the Scottish educational system teaching BGE levels, National 5 and Higher English. I then spent a year working internationally in a school teaching GCSE and A Level English before returning to the Scottish sector where I am instructing at National 5 and Higher. I have been a qualified SQA marker for three years, excelling at the Critical Reading paper which I will be marking again this year for my own professional development and so I can better inform my students on how to succeed in their exams.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in a pupil-centred approach whereby we ascertain each individual's strengths and target the gaps in their learning with personalised feedback and instruction. I supply all materials students require to consolidate their learning and am fully contactable outside of sessions.
