Hi. I am Raghav!

I have just completed my A-Levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Economics and Computer Science - and I am excited to share my passion for each of these subjects with you.

I have also completed the TMUA and achieved a score of 6.2 (new scaling), where the average is 4.5, and this has allowed me to receive offers for Economics from LSE, UCL and Warwick University.

Whether you are starting from scratch or looking to further develop your understanding , I promise to make sure that each lesson leaves you with something new and useful . My aim is to make learning enjoyable, and create an approachable environment, where students are comfortable in asking questions.

Tutoring Experience

As an Economics and Maths/Further Maths Mentor in my school, I have definitely developed the soft skills needed to teach different students. Being the leader of Economics Society at my school has helped me enhance my communication and presentation skills, both of which are essential in making complex concepts accessible and engaging.

I am very quickly able to grasp a students strengths and areas where improvements are needed, and I will tailor my sessions such that each student makes meaningful progress. My goal is to make each student more confident and independent in their subject.

Tutoring Approach

Below is a list summarising my approach to the lessons I will be taking:
1) Foundational Understanding - Unless a student is completely comfortable with a concept, I will always start with the basic before moving on to exam-style questions.
2) Student-focused - I will tailor each session depending on the student I am teaching. This is important to ensure that students can focus more on the areas where they are weaker.
3) Interactive - I will constantly ask students to ask any questions they have as well as asking them to perhaps summarise what has just been explained in their own words. This may be through the form of online quizzes, or just face-to-face communication. Nothing to be daunted by!
4) Exam-Prepped - Once a student is well-versed with the foundational concepts, I will gradually start weaving in exam-style questions into my sessions, so that each student can focus on the individual marking points and incorporate these within their own work at school to secure the top grades.
