Hello! My name is Ramla, and I am a dedicated and experienced maths tutor with a passion for helping students reach their full potential. I have always enjoyed working with young people and making maths more accessible, engaging, and enjoyable. My academic background, combined with my enthusiasm for teaching, allows me to support students in building confidence and achieving success in their studies. I understand that every student learns differently, and I strive to create a supportive and motivating learning environment where they feel encouraged to ask questions and develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts.

Tutoring Experience

I have several years of experience in education, having worked as a private maths tutor before completing my PGCE in 2023-2024. During my teacher training, I taught secondary school students, meeting all the required teaching standards and gaining valuable classroom experience. Since then, I have been working as a supply teacher across primary and secondary schools, adapting to different learning environments and supporting students of varying abilities. Additionally, my cohort was the first to sit the new GCSE 9-1 specification, giving me first-hand insight into the challenges students face with the updated curriculum and exam structure. This experience allows me to guide students effectively through their studies, whether they need help with fundamental maths skills or exam preparation.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is tailored to the individual needs of each student. I believe that building confidence is just as important as improving academic performance, so I focus on creating a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere. I break down complex topics into simple, manageable steps, using real-life examples to make abstract concepts more relatable. I also assess students’ strengths and weaknesses to personalise lessons, ensuring they receive targeted support where they need it most. Whether a student is struggling with the basics or aiming for top grades, I adapt my methods to suit their learning style, helping them develop problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of maths.
