I enjoy creative writing (as a result of my experience in travel journalism), mentoring and analytical tasks. I am a member of the Tutors Association and hence regularly attend conferences to acquire further knowledge on effective teaching from like-minded professionals.
I have three years of tutoring experience up to GCSE level with successful results. By way of example, I tutored a 21 year old student appearing for English GCSE and he successfully obtained his desired grade. This therefore demonstrates that I am adaptive to students from a variety of backgrounds.
I initially conduct my own consultation with the parents of students to ascertain their child's level and the desired level they would like them to ascertain. Thereafter, I recommend the relevant material for the students to have available to them and devise a plan of action to ensure continuous learning and understanding of core topics.
I adopt a methodical and patient approach towards engaging with students, quickly identifying with areas where they require improvement, and working with their current strengths to help them better understand related topics.
