I am currently a mathematics lead practitioner in a local secondary school. Prior to this, I was a Head of Maths for 8 years in Bromley secondary school. I am married with two children in year 14 and 16, so am aware of difficulties that our children are facing in their maths education.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught secondary school maths for 25 years and have a proven track record of raising GCSE grades, which is how I qualified as an advanced skills teacher. I have taught all abilities in years 7- 11 and would be able to help bridge any gaps in understanding at Foundation or Higher Level.

Tutoring Approach

As an experienced teacher, I am aware of key topics that need to be mastered to achieve the highest possible GCSE grade. I would look to cover these topics as well as any particular topics pupils are struggling with. Examples are discussed to check understanding before we focus on tackling exam questions on that topic. Leading up to the GCSE exam we would focus on whole exam papers, identifying and addressing any weaknesses.
