I am currently head of the science department in a sixth form with 10+ years experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Biology. I graduated with a Pharmacy degree and made the switch in the early 2000s to teaching. I also own a tuition centre based in Harrow where I have my 1-1 in person classes, we also offer group classes in science and maths ranging from KS2 to A-Level; please contact me for extra information on this. I offer specialised classes where I teach students how to gain full marks on the AQA synoptic 25 mark essay.

As an experienced A-Level Biology examiner i focus on teaching exam techniques so that students understand how to gain full marks on more difficult application questions.

For the past 10+ years of teaching, I have taught AQA and OCR A-Level Biology and GCSE Chemistry and Biology.

Tutoring Approach

I follow science based learning, where I focus on students understanding biological concepts before applying their knowledge on exam questions. I believe it is best to focus on exam techniques by practicing exam questions as we move through the content instead of leaving it to the end. I use active recall and spaced practice with students to keep the, engaged with topics throughout the year.
