Ray helped me massively with my Politics A-level. His resources were extremely helpful and were perfectly tailored to my area for improvement. Each session was focused on my desired topic or area of the specification, with small recap tasks at the start of each session reinforcing my knowledge and improving my confidence. Ultimately, Ray helped me improve my grade and helped me secure my place at my first choice university. Ray was very friendly, supportive and motivating.

Ray was extremely supportive both in terms of content and exam technique. He gave full comprehensive helpful feedback on the homework he set and on work/essays from school using AQA mark-schemes.

My daughter only gotten to know Ray two weeks prior to her Politics Paper 2 exam. His contribution to her higher level of understanding in US and UK politics was significant. Ray helped my daughter untangle difficult concepts, such as how a government's mandate influences its actions and the different power balances between whips and the legislative in the US compared to that in the UK. He also clarified on details of prevalent political events such as the veto process of the Scottish Gender Recognition Bill. These were all crucial towards enhancing the accuracy and conclusiveness of my daughter's essay writing.

Ray took on my son fairly late in the academic year and has been helping him with his Politics A Level. The sessions have been homing in on exam skills and question focus for the AQA course. They have helped build my son's confidence and given him greater insight into tackling a range of exam questions. He has got a great deal out of the tutor sessions and liked Ray's approach. Ray has kept me fully posted on how things have progressed with regular parent updates.

A Level Goverment and politics tutoring:- Ray has supported our daughter across the whole range of her Pearson A level, including both the UK and US topics. The sessions have had a focus on content, sharpening up her exam skills and improving her confidence. To this end Ray's style has been so informative for her from a knowledge perspective, but equally Ray has truly cared about our daughter achieving the best grade that she is capable of. She really feels that he has turned her low grade expectations around to be able to push for the highest grades, Although tutoring seems expensive, Ray provides very good value for money.
From a parental perspective Ray's communication is excellent and he liaises with her and us to ensure that he meets her individual needs at each session. After each session he sends a summary to both us and separately to our daughter detailing what has been covered and what the plans are for next time, often setting work and providing useful attachments for learning and review. He is a very professional and organised tutor.
Ray is an excellent tutor and we have no hesitation in recommending for A level Government and Politics.

I contacted Ray when my son was struggling to gain essay marks in his Politics A level. Ray has now helped with various topics across UK, political ideas and global politics. He has set him work to do between sessions, and he provides me with regular updates on what he has covered in each session. Ray has helped my son structure answers and prepare revision plans, but above all he has helped my son’s understanding and confidence. Great and very knowledgeable teacher. We worked mostly on ideologies, which is my weakest area, but also did UK and US politics together. Very instrumental in me achieving an A in A Level.

Having worked with Ray for half a year starting two months into 2023, I have made immense progress with my A level politics studies, despite many challenges this year such as teacher strikes and A levels going back to pre-pandemic standards. Sir has constantly kept me on my toes by marking my essays on time and grilling me over the misinterpretations in political analysis. With his advice and guidance I was able to do all my essays within exam timed conditions, and come out of the papers confident. It is with great joy that I achieved an 82% average across all papers and scoring the A* I needed for my university entrance!

We engaged Ray for my son Nat a few months before his politics A level. Ray has helped Nat with topics across a whole range of the course. Nat is dyslexic and has ADHD, but Ray has kept him focussed and engaged throughout the tutorials. Ray set him work targets to achieve between lessons, and we as parents, are always fully updated on any work set by Ray and the progress made. Nat is about to enter his last exam with far more confidence than he would have had if it wasn’t for Ray.

Earlier this year it became apparent that my son needed some help with his Politics A level (he needs a B but, in April, was only working towards a C).

Ray has been meeting him once or twice a week and the improvement in my son's knowledge and confidence has been significant. Prior to each session, Ray liaises with Tom to establish some goals and to ensure that his areas of concern are covered. After each session Ray sets some realistic tasks for Tom to complete which they go through during the next session. Ray copies me in on all communications so I can see what progress is being made.

Tom had completely switched off at school. He had fallen behind and lost interest. Now, going into his exam period, he is feeling much more confident about Politics. This one-on-one time with Ray has been invaluable, both in sharpening up his exam skills and achieving a calmer mindset. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Finding Ray has been completely transformative for Finn as an individual and me as a parent. Ray's support and guidance in the run up to Finn's exams has been fantastic. He is clear and concise, supportive and engaging. Finn really enjoys his sessions and finds Ray's way of working to be collaborative and supportive rather than didactic. Ray's communication with Finn and with us has been amazing - really timely and supportive. In addition to supporting Finn, Ray has also been fantastic in encouraging us to work with school to make sure that appropriate reasonable adjustments are made for Finn in his exams. Ray has been tutoring my son through Year 12 and 13. He is thorough, reliable, punctual and very conscientious. He prepares well for each session, communicates with my son and with me (before and after each session) and tailors the tuition to my son's needs. My son has ADHD and he gets on very well with Ray and finds him an engaging tutor. He is particularly good for Global Politics - but has been very effective so far on all areas of my son's syllabus and learning. I would definitely recommend him for A level Politics.

My child was struggling with politics at school, consequently a tutor was required to bridge the gaps. Ray is excellent, his lessons are structured and comprehensive. Within a very short period of time my son has become more confident with the subject, and in fact has stated that he really enjoys it! We definitely recommend him.
