I am an enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher who has worked at 2 outstanding schools driving pupils to achieve their best for the last 9 years. It is great to help others understand and develop their confidence within the Sciences. I am able to use my degree knowledge to extend my teaching past the specification making topics relevant and engaging. I am also an examiner for the AQA specification and so have a great understanding about exam technique as take part in marking GCSE examinations.

Tutoring Experience

My experience of teaching spans across all three key stages specific to the AQA exam board specification. Since completing my PGCE I have taught at 2 different schools, a popular and outstanding Liverpool school and moved to an outstanding school in Cheshire for a promotion, where I was KS3 Science lead. I have benefited from the experience of teaching students of all abilities from Year 7 through to Y13.
I have tutored in the past and really enjoyed seeing the impact an hour of tuition can have on a students understanding and confidence. Previous students have progressed within their Science knowledge and I am ready to continue to help more students in their studies. A one to one session can really help student's gain a more in depth understanding of the topics and misunderstandings can be addressed quickly.

Tutoring Approach

All sessions are tailored and made specifically to suit the students personal needs. Each session will focus on a particularly area of the specification and depending upon understanding it could involve, interleaving of previous topics, exam style questions or completing exercises to build and consolidate understanding. Over time each student I tutor will build confidence and will be able to guide the sessions to what they are wanting and needing at the time.
