(Please note that I am aware of the introduction fee payable by tutees and I am happy to offer the first tutor session FREE with subsequent sessions at the normal rate)

Hi, my name is Rebecca (Becky) and I'm a fully qualified Primary school teacher with 25 years experience.

I am 47 with two children of my own aged 16 &17. My son has a diagnosis of High Functioning Autism (Asperger’s) so I am extremely familiar with supporting pupils with additional needs. Both my children are now working full-time on Apprenticeships within South Yorkshire.
I have taught across the entire primary age-range from Nursery (FS1) through to Y6. I have experience of supporting pupils preparing for their SATS and 11+ entrance exams to some of South Yorkshire’s private independent selective schools - including Hill House (Doncaster) and Sheffield Girls’ High School.
I have experience of teaching and supporting children from families who have chosen to home-educate as I chose to home-educate my daughter from Y7 to Y11 and she has just recently completed her GCSE’s.
I offer tuition face to face in your home or at a nearby public meeting place (eg local library) or I am able to tutor online over Teams, Facetime or Zoom.
I also offer advice and support for families who are navigating the Special Educational Needs pathway. As an ex-Special Needs Coordinator, I can offer advice on applying for Education & Health Care Plans (EHCP’s) and working in partnership with mainstream and specialist schools.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a qualified teacher since 2000 when I graduated from Lancaster Uni. I am an ex-Assistant Headteacher and SENCO (special needs). I can offer tuition and expert advice and support if you’re needing help to navigate the special needs pathway. I also specialise in supporting families who have chosen to home-educate. I chose to home-educate my youngest child who has now just completed her GCSE’s.

Tutoring Approach

Enjoyment and fun = Super learning….

I find this approach works best.
I bring everything your child needs for the lesson including pens/pencils etc.

I always offer the FIRST SESSION FREE

I am happy to travel up to 15 miles. I MAY travel further but there would be an additional fuel charge.
