I am a full-time, practising Secondary Maths Teacher and Faculty Lead with lots of experience teaching in a variety of schools across England. However, I’m a little different from your average Maths teacher as I started out as a Law graduate and decided to switched careers. A jack-of-all-trades type I guess!
After completing my PGCE in 2017, I have been working full-time as a Maths teacher ever since - so you can imagine the number of hours experience I have accumulated!
I have worked in a variety of schools across the country and have taught KS3, GCSE and A-Level. I have taught AQA, Edexcel and OCR specifications and have also taught classes entered for both Foundation and Higher papers.
In the past, I have done a small amount of tutoring outside work, but I have mostly focused on studying Maths at degree level to increase my subject knowledge at the Open University. I cashed in my credits so far in 2021 to gain a Certificate in Higher Education. I’m a strong believer in education and absolutely love to learn. If it’s good enough for the students, it’s good enough for me!
I am calm, friendly and patient and truly believe that any child can achieve great things with the right support. I have a huge amount of experience in Maths education, but having had experience in the legal industry early in my career, I am also very articulate and strive to make myself easily understood at all times.
I will not assume background knowledge before I have assessed students myself, and promise to meet the students where they are at. However, my extensive subject knowledge means I can also extend to way beyond the specification if needs be.
