I love gaining knowledge as I find it liberating and fun.I am personally a visual learner so I had to adapt my learning in a way that I could retain. One of my methods was teach others the area/subject I just covered.I found that the most effective way of learning in which I continued to do so with peers, friends and family throughout my educational time. I had to find out what is my learning language was as I recognised early on that I couldn't learn as fast as the others. I wish I had help and reassurance at school regarding methods and self confidence with my learning however it pushed me to pursue being that teacher that I wish I had.
I tutored kids that ranged from year 1 to year 9 although I have more experience teaching from year 1 to year 5. my favourite subjects would be maths and science as I enjoy making the session fun and extra interactive. I enjoy teaching english as I find the structuring and writing stories interesting. I Usually make my own or use resources that are out there with my students as i want to make sure they can apply their learning in different scenarios.
My students have told me that I am fun and comfortable to be with although I am firm. I appreciate that it's good to make education fun, however there needs to be a structure and boundaries for the learning to be effective.
I want to approach my students in a way where they see me as a teacher, friend and mentor. I am very flexible and will cater to any of my students whenever, as I want to support and encourage their potential.
