Reema

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher, I have taught in 7 different schools in all year groups, from Reception to Year 6. Currently, I am teaching Year 6 at a school in Rugby. I have a PGCE in Primary Education and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Most recently, I acquired a Level 3 Diploma specific to Child Psychology.

My passion and specialism is embedding modern foreign languages as much as possible in the primary curriculum, but I enjoy teaching all subjects and strive towards contributing towards a broad and balanced curriculum.

I work consistently to develop my knowledge and life skills. I am fluent in 3 languages, currently learning Tamil in my spare time. My interests include running, martial arts and canvas painting.

Tutoring Experience

I have 7 years of Primary School experience in Rochdale, Leamington Spa and Rugby in Foundation, Key Stages 1 and 2. I have volunteered in secondary schools in Blackburn prior to working full time, through which I have observed the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3. Similarly, from working in Foundation Stage I have the knowledge to aid children in moving forward from Reception to Year 1.

In addition I also have experience leading curriculum planning for Science, History, Spanish, R.E, Design Technology and Computing.

I have tutored a range of students from Foundation Level to GSCE in Spanish, Maths and English, including Reading, Phonics, Grammar and Creative Writing Skills. From my experience in Years 4 to 6, I have a good understanding of exam techiniques and knowledge to help students prepare for the 11 plus exams.

Tutoring Approach

Fun, interactive learning which can be tailored to visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners. I take pride in the resources that I create to facilitate learning, from which I get a good general response.

I look to engage my students in what they currently know and develop their learning further. I make it a point to do this using a range of formative and summative techniques.

Furthermore I intend to aid students in the areas they find difficult and gauge their interest in the subject.
