I am a supportive and empathetic and enthusiastic person, who is committed to providing quality care to children and young people and offering guidance for parents/careers when needed.
From my knowledge I have gained from being at Brockenhurst College completing my Early Years Foundation Degree through Chichester University, I can bring this into practice when working with children and young people to ensure that they are always paramount, and that their health, well-being, and development is supported and encouraged.
I am a punctual Early Years Educator driven to inspire and teach children and young people to be respectful, patient, and positive. I enjoy being a team player in a diverse and positive working environment. I also think that by allowing children and young people the freedom to explore and engage in diverse and enjoyable activities, such as using musical instruments and role play areas, yoga, and mindfulness. Which allows the children and young people to develop their learning through their imagination and hands-on learning approach and understanding their own and others’ emotions.
I am passionate about outdoor education and teaching children through their interests.
I also have a Diploma in cake baking, which is another one of my passions. While also having a diploma in Children’s yoga and baby massage.
I taught a mixed class of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 aged children, through fun and engaging planned lessons for all aged children. Delivering lessons of maths, literacy, spellings, art, science, and Physical, Health, Social and Economics (PHSE). I worked alongside other teachers to ensure the best for the children and their families.
Teaching yoga and mindfulness through stories, movements and activities within a primary school to children aged 4-8 years old. With focus on classroom management and creating engaging resources for differing abilities.
A nursery teacher within a private school. Planning, assessing and reviewing children's learning and development. Planning lessons and activities through their interests and tailoring to individual needs. High priority on free flow learning, using the indoors as much as the outdoors.
My approach to teaching and tutoring is bringing the child's interests into their learning through gross motor games and stimulation cognitive activities.
For example; if a child enjoys football but needs extra support with English (spelling and reading) and concentration, I would plan a football activity integrating common exception words. The child would dribble the ball around the words on the floor, spelling them out and putting them into a sentence.
Or if a child's interests was the outdoors, and needed support with handwriting and literacy. we could collect natural materials from the outdoors, create a story or a 'potion'. The child would then create a recipe, with the focus on handwriting and spelling.
