Stuck staring at textbooks and wondering if there's a better way? Let’s make learning actually fun. (Oh, and your first session? Free.)

Hey there, I’m Ritika! I'm a Master’s student in Translational Neuroscience at Imperial College London and I’m hoping to be your favourite tutor soon! We’ll work together to figure out what clicks for you—your schedule, learning techniques, everything. Everyone processes information differently, so why should tutoring be one-size-fits-all?

Tutoring Experience

My love for tutoring started when I became the family’s go-to teacher. As the oldest sibling of two brothers with learning disabilities, I grew up learning how to be patient, flexible, and responsible. I helped them through school when it didn’t always meet their needs and made sure they stayed true to themselves while working with our parents and their teachers.

During university, I continued to help others learn in different ways. I was a Learning Assistant for Chemistry, helping my classmates tackle challenging topics. I also worked as a Camp Counselor at a science camp, making science fun and digestible for kids. Plus, I mentored secondary school students as they took on big research projects in Environmental Science. I loved seeing them grow and succeed!

As your tutor, I don’t just want you to ace the concepts—we’ll dive deeper. I want you to walk away asking, ‘What’s next? How does this connect to the bigger picture? What did I discover about myself?’ My goal is to help you not only succeed but to get you thinking beyond the textbook and feeling inspired by your own progress.

Tutoring Approach

  1. Individualized Attention
I know that every student learns differently. In our sessions, I start by figuring out how you learn best. If you struggle with math, I might use diagrams or interactive tools like virtual simulation labs to help you understand the topic in a new way.

  2. Encouraging Curiosity
I love it when my students ask questions. During our time together, I will encourage you to think about how your lessons connect to the real world. I might ask questions like, 'How have the animals you've seen recently been affected by our warming climate?' or 'How does your brain know that you're hungry right now?'

  3. Supportive Environment
I create a safe and friendly space for you to learn. I understand that everyone has challenges. If you feel anxious about a topic, I will share my experiences to help you relax. I will make sure that your learning is paced well and that you are not overwhelmed. If you’re stressed, we’ll take a breather and reorganize your workload.

  4. Focus on Growth
I want you to grow and learn about yourself. After each lesson, we can take a moment to reflect. I will ask you what you learned and what you want to improve. Most of all, I want to celebrate your wins!
