An active and published researcher, Robert spent the majority of his early years in Ohio, where he obtained a B.A. degree in History and Secondary Education at Walsh University.
Robert is permanently licenced to teach History in England & Wales.
After leaving the U.S. he studied at De Montfort University in England and the University of Wales at Bangor, supporting himself through teaching and coaching. He trained as a sociologist at Bangor, where he was awarded an MPhil in Sociology through the Centre for Comparative Criminology. Prior to that he earned a Post-graduate Diploma in Historical and Cultural Appraisals of Sport at De Montfort.
He has wide experience in his teaching career: he's worked as a supply teacher, teacher in private practice, primary teacher, secondary teacher, prison school teacher, comprehensive school teacher, private school teacher, head coach, college lecturer, university lecturer, director of sport, educational administrator, and currently Senior Lecturer.
He was a doctoral student in Sociology at the University of Birmingham, UK in 2009 until the Department was terminated in 2010. He then followed his supervisor to the University of Huddersfield and was awarded a PhD. Robert currently divides his time between England and Ohio - researching technoculture(s) and social issues in the West Midlands whilst teaching online courses for The University of Akron. Robert has teaching experience with Blackboard, Brightspace, Canvas, and Moodle.
Although Robert divides his time between England and Ohio, Robert can tutor university undergraduates by distance learning via the internet. 'I believe every student can experience success whether in or out of a classroom', says Robert.
