I am 43 years old, I am married and live in north west England. I have spent the majority of my life in the public sector, working first as a police officer and then for the NHS. I have been a tutor for the past 6 years, working locally and online and have built an extensive student base of my own. I have a full enhanced DBS that can be seen upon request.

Tutoring Experience

I have 6 years experience in both face to face and online tuition in a range of subjects at differing levels. This has given me a wealth of knowledge of curriculums and subject matter. I have helped students at entry level from 11+ and 13+ in private institutions (Charterhouse, Eton. Harrow, Winchester, Godolphin and Latymer and Cheltenham Ladies as examples). I have worked for online agencies providing lessons and tuition for students from China who are looking to attend independent schools here in the UK.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching is relaxed but firm. My students have had excellent success rates at all levels. My objective is for the student to learn, not simply to memorise facts and figures. I tend to work in tandem with school topics, so as not to confuse students with alternative topics and to supplement the teaching they already get. I make sure students know that their education is their responsibility and that we will give them all they need to be successful.
