I am a UK trained Native English speaking Tutor. I love literature such as Keats, Pablo Neruda, Tolkien, H G Wells, Bugakov, Saroyan, etc. As a Psychologist I have always specialised in Cognitive, Behavioural and Biological Psychology.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a qualified English Language and Literature teacher and tutor for 23 years. I have specialised in IGCSE, GCSE and A level teaching and tutoring. For many years I have been an examiner for Cambridge International which has helped in my teaching. For the last 15 years I have also taught IB Diploma and Middle Years Programme. I have been a consultant for schools in the teaching of English, Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay. I also teach Psychology and Social Anthropology. For many years I have worked with University applications for Cambridge, Oxford, Durham Leicester and other Russell group Universities in the UK especially on the particulars of the Personal Statement. I have also worked with applications for other Universities in the US and Europe.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in active learning and students participating fully in the lessons. I like to be purposeful but approachable, as you learn more when you are enjoying what you are learning. It is important that students are aware of what they need to learn and how they are learning it. I have a fine eye for detail and give feedback in a focused and constructive manner that helps to build skills and confidence'.
